" Located in the North Beach Planation complex, The Spa has 44,500 sq ft of DaVinci Classic slate shingles on the steep slope area & 3,500 sq ft of Manville TPO on the low slope roof.
This is one of several similar buildings for First Citizens. This building features unfading green slate by Evergreen Slate Company, standing seam metal roofing by Englert & modified bitumen roofing by Johns Manville.
This building, located at the campus entrance of Coastal Carolina University, is covered with 20,500 sq ft of Evergreen slate shingles. The 18 dormers & large rotunda were covered with a standing seam copper roof system. Firestone EPDM over tapered insulation was installed in the flat areas.
This project was one of the most difficult jobs our company has performed. This project involved built-up roofing, standing seam and flat seam copper roofing and slate roofing. The bond lines on the 12" slate had to be straight, which was very difficult on the convex and concave surfaces.
Originally constructed in 1927 & listed on the National Historical Register, the "Granddaddy" clubhouse was completely reroofed with Vermont Black slate by Evergreen Slate Company.
